Maps IDs #
Why do you need a Map ID? #
A Map Ids table for maps is used to resolve naming inconsistencies between robot-internal map names and Meili FMS map names.
For example, a user may name a map “Ground Floor” in Meili FMS, but a robot’s internal system might only recognise the map as “map_0” or another predefined identifier.
The user defined map IDs connection table acts as a translation layer between Meili FMS and each robot, ensuring consistent map references across all communications.
The IDs table ensures that:
- Incoming messages from robots are correctly interpreted by Meili FMS.
- The robot’s current floor is accurately identified within the system.
- Outgoing map-related messages use the naming conventions expected by each robot.
How to Use the Map IDs #
A Map ID is configured individually for each vehicle within the team.
Once defined, Meili FMS automatically translates all incoming and outgoing map-related messages for that robot based on the specified Id table entries.
To create or edit a Map ID entry:
- Select the desired vehicle from the dashboard.
- Open the Map IDs tab.
- Add a new Map Id entry by specifying:
- The robot’s internal map name, and
- The corresponding system-wide map name in Meili FMS.
