Adding devices to the map #

After creating a device, as explained in the Devices section, the next step is to add the device to the map. This can be done by following the steps below:

1. Click on the Maps tab in the left-hand menu.

2. On the right-hand side of the screen, click on the Create device button.

3. A pop-up window will appear. Fill in the required fields:

   

   • Device model: Select the device to be added from the drop-down list.
   • Position: Enter the X and Y coordinates of the device on the map or leave it empty to be able to click on the map to set the position after saving the device.
   • Identifier: Enter the device identifier. This will be used to identify the device on the MQTT broker. The messages sent by the device should contain this identifier in the topic.

4. Click on the Save button.

5. (Optional) Click on the map to set the position of the device if it was left empty in the previous step.

Visualising the status of devices #

It is possible to see all the devices added to the map and their status under Vehicles and devices -> Devices.
